ABOUT US

A CHRIST-CENTERED COMMUNITY FOR ALL.

We exist for three main reasons that we feel very strongly about.

FOCUS ON THE WORD

The Bible is the blueprint by which we should live our lives. We believe if we follow the Word we will grow stronger as a community, and closer to God. We rely heavily on what the Bible says so that we may not stray away from the path God has set before us.

FOCUS ON GOD

By keeping our focus on God we can not stray. God has set forth a path for us to follow. He has a very specific set of plans that he wants us to follow, and it is our mission to follow His instructions as closely as possible. We understand that we all fall short of the glory of God. We pray and work everyday to do our very best.

FOCUS ON EACH OTHER

As long as we love one another we will grow stronger as a community of believers. We feel that engaging in fellowship is a very important tool that God calls for us to do as often as possible. If we continue to reach the lost and broken, and extend grace, God will bless us for our efforts.

OUR HISTORY

OUR HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

A new Pentecostal church began in Fayetteville in 1935 on Adams Street in the home of Rev. W. I. Bass. Many had a vision and desire for this new work including some from Hope Mills. In 1936, a church was built on Cool Spring Street but had to be relinquished due to financial issues. The owner of a local lumber company gave the church enough lumber and materials to build a small tabernacle on School Street. A young minister, Rev. H. B. Turlington had a vision in which he saw a group of people wandering without a shepherd.

Rev. H. B. Turlington, John Thames, and E. B. Bishop drove down the first stakes for a new block building on the corner of C & Adams Street in late 1940 and in March, 1941, the group of believers had their own building, though work remained to be completed. After Rev. Turlington, Rev. D. H. Delk became the pastor overseeing the construction of a parsonage next to the church.
